Our server at dinner last night was typical of the hospitality we enjoyed in Delft. We were greeted in Dutch, and responded with "hello". Our server immediately switched to English. Everything is in Dutch, but there is always someone to graciously translate.
We enjoyed Delft, but it was time to move on. We took a train from Delft to Rotterdam, another to Antwerp another to Ghent and a fourth to Brugge. For those of you who think we're getting old, you should have seen the two of us toting suitcase and backpack up and down stairways and into train cars. We did a pretty good job of figuring out where we were and where we were going. All in all, a very pleasant train ride through the countryside.
We of course got lost walking from the train station to our B+B. As we stood on the street corner trying to figure it out, a very nice lady got off her bike and asked if she could help. It was a good thing she did, because we were waaaaay off course. We're in a nice spot.
After a fair amount of walking around, we had a nice dinner and a glass of port back here at the B+B.
The only down side is that the only english tv available is a bad Mike Meyer movie. We're going to bed
