Its cold (in the lower 40s) today in Amsterdam, but it isn't raining so we did two Rick Steves walking tours.
The first was fine, through a shopping district, a "hidden" Catholic church, a residential area in the middle of the city and, for us, a canal boat ride and lunch at Wagamoma's.
Then we made our mistake and did a walking tour of the red light district. Blehh. Rick Steves ends with "okay, now go back to your hotel and take a shower". He got that. Its maybe the saddest place we've seen.
On a much brighter note, we found a very out of the way pub, had a beer and another beer and dinner amongst a mostly Dutch crowd.
The restaurant and bar servers all greet you in dutch and switch to flawless, American-idiom english as soon as they see the confused looks on our faces.
Tomorrow's forecast is for rain. We'll be inside museums.
