Well, we left you last night on our way to dinner. We got a recommendation from the front desk and chose to ignore it. The place looked nice, but it had elegant candles and white linen tablecloths. We walked down the road and found the Dutch version of an Irish pub. Wood tables, no table cloth, bar a prominent feature. Further made comfortable by a couple of families with little kids and Bruce's first cousin. The onion soup was wonderful, the fish delightful, and the vegetables unrecognizable but tasty. The menu was only in Dutch, but the proprietor very patiently translated.
This morning we took the tram (light rail) to The Hague, mostly to see the Mauritshuis Museum and its two Vermeers, one of which is Girl With A Pearl Earring.
We had lunch in a little cafe on a square fronting the Parliament buildings, walked through some of the commercial area of The Hague, and caught the tram back to Delft.
That gave us a chance to catch the last worthwhile museum in Delft. On the way back we decided we needed to check on the quality of Dutch pastry. I'm happy to report they do an outstanding job. Its a wonder these people aren't all as fat as we are.
Tomorrow, we again take on the train system and head to Bruges.
