Buenos Aires

We spent most of yesterday with Ceci and Ajo in the Puerto Madero area, taking a walk along the waterfront, then enjoying a long and leisurely lunch. Ajo left to get ready for her camping holiday with her boyfriend, and Ceci dropped us off at the hotel for a little freshening up before we headed to Androgue for asado with Peggy and Enrique.

It was quite a party. We were joined by Ceci's cousin and Peggy's sister Nancy and Nancy's husband Henry. Debra, another of the girls who had visited Minnesota stopped over. Ceci's brother Javier was in and out, and of course Junior was there. For you dog lovers, Foster continues to be Foster.

Enrique cooked the asado and once again we enjoyed parts of the cow that we don't often see or even hear of. In our honor, English was the official language of the night, even though Enrique's English is only slightly better than our Spanish.

Peggy and Enrique are wonderful hosts. We ate well, drank well, and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We didn't get back to the hotel until 3.00am, and its a good thing Ceci was doing the driving. We have rarely felt as welcome in anyone's home. We look forward to the possibility that they might have an opportunity to visit us in the United States.

This afternoon we visited the market at Tigre, a river town just outside of Buenos Aires, again under the careful and very capable guidance of Ceci. Now, we're tired. Unlike the last couple of nights, its going to be an early night after we pack. We leave Buenos Aires on an 8.40am flight to Ushuaia.

I remember Androgue! I wish I was in an Argentine summer instead of a Minnesota winter right now.
