Mom and Dad called me on my work phone this week... but I was in training all day and wasn't there to get the call. They left a message and asked me to update their blog so here goes!
They were calling from the city of Ushuaia at about 3:00 pm, 4 hours later than Minneapolis time. They had spent the day walking through the Tierra del Fuego National Park. Click here for a link to National Park site. This sign shows that the road they walked on is the end of the same road that starts in ALASKA! What a long road!
Dad said they bascially re-traced steps we took before when Mike, Ceci & I were with them in Argentina a couple years ago. He did say it was much nicer to visit there during the summer as the warmer weather made everything look more beautiful. (Mike, remember sliding down that big ice road? ha!)
They also stopped for something to eat at the same restaurant we ate at when we were there before. Dad's quote was that it was "a hoppin' place for backpackers... with a nice gift shop."
The weather is sunny and beautiful, and they sounded excited as they were getting ready to board the boat for the rest of the trip. Dad signed off by saying they would talk to all of us in 2 weeks unless they get lucky can send an email from the boat.
Then he passed the phone off to Mom who was trying to find out if one of my friends who was due on the 19th had her baby yet. I love how they can be on the other side of the world and still thinking about our "adventures" here in Minnesota.
That's all for now- Hopefully we will hear from them soon!
